The Nelson Skating Clubs is seeking an experienced and dedicated Skate Canada Certified Regional Coach or higher to join our team. As a club coach, you will play a pivotal role in the development and success of our  skaters. You will provide expert coaching, guidance, and support to skaters across various skill levels, with a specific focus on team coaching. If you are a passionate and skilled coach with a strong background in figure skating and team coaching, we invite you to apply for this exciting opportunity.  This position is part time hours during our ice season which runs August into April.

Responsibilities:

• Provide high-level coaching to  skaters across different age groups and skill levels.
• Collaborate with other coaches to create cohesive training strategies and ensure consistent coaching methods and techniques.
• Conduct on-ice and off-ice training sessions, including jumps, spins, footwork, choreography, and conditioning exercises.
• Analyze and assess skaters’ performances, providing constructive feedback and personalized coaching to enhance their skills and address areas for improvement.
• Develop and maintain effective communication with skaters, parents, and board members regarding training schedules, competition plans, and progress updates.
• Attend and provide coaching support during competitions.
• Stay updated with the latest updates from Skate Canada.
